Early Luxo lamp from Norway. Retains the original labels and marks. Warm grey enamel body. Swivel base and spring mechanisms all work incredibly well. It moves, stays and stops in all directions. Fiber shade filters light beautifully White non original clamp is included. Works well. Some all over wear to the finish but not bad considering the age. We think it adds to the appeal.

The Luxo lamps by Norwegian designer Jac Jacobsen are by far the most known spring held architect lamps of all time. This the early model. In 1934 Jacobsen founded Luxo ASA, former Jac. Jacobsen A / S, a Norwegian industrial group. It was originally a marketing company for textile machinery. In 1937, he developed the Luxo-L1, a balanced-arm lamp. Today, the lamp is part of various exhibitions in museums around the world, as the lamp is being seen as an example for classic lamp design. In 1986, CGI animation studio Pixar gave it a second life as a cartoon.
